JOSEPHINE GONZALES

Ms. Gonzales is a proud native of Albuquerque.  In her youth, she participated in the AYSP Junior Symphony, Youth Orchestra and the Youth Symphony, in which she had the honor of winning the concerto competition her senior year.

In 2010, Ms. Gonzales graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelors degree in oboe performance.  In 2017, she completed her Masters in Music Education degree with distinction from the University of New Mexico.  After moving back to Albuquerque, Ms. Gonzales became the Director of Bands for Highland High School (an Albuquerque Public Schools institution), where she currently teaches marching band, concert band, jazz band, beginning band, and steel band. Ms. Gonzales is currently a serving officer in the New Mexico Music Educators Assocition (NMMEA) and is an active performer with the Albuquerque Concert Band.
