At our first rehearsal today, we enjoyed getting to know you and also getting acquainted with the music on our Junior Orchestra program!
When we meet again next week, we will be having not only our parent meeting, but also our first sectionals. In order to prepare for that, be sure to concentrate your practice on these pieces in preparation for the sectionals:
Practice at quarter note = 112.
CHACONNE AND MARCH
Practice measures 1-40 at half note = 70.
Practice measures 41-60 at half note = 60.
Practice measures 73-end at quarter note = 96. If you’re having trouble understanding the 3/2 time signature, be sure to ask your school or private teacher for clarification.
Be sure to understand that, while we encourage you to concentrate on the sectional pieces, you need to make sure you are learning all notes, rhythms, bowings and articulations of the other pieces!
Students: be sure to arrive at the AYSP building no later than 8:45 AM
Parents: Meeting: 8:45-9:00 AM in the AYSP Bullpen (west side of the building)
Be sure to have your instrument, music, pencil, and a tuner (if you own one)
See you next week,
Mrs. Robertson and Mr. Austell
We rely on donations from generous individuals and businesses like you to provide symphonic performance experiences to Albuquerque’s talented young musicians and access to music education for students in need.
