Optional Winter Concert - Joy Junction
Students were provided with information about the optional winter concert at rehearsal on October 5. Music is a powerful gift to share with others! That's why AYSP is doing a holiday concert at Joy Junction, a non-profit organization that serves over 300 homeless members of our community each night including many children. This performance is open to all students in YS an YO. Rehearsals will take place on Mondays from 6:30pm-9:15pm on 11/2, 11/9, 11/16, 11/23, 11/30, and 12/7. The concert is on Saturday, December 12 in the early evening at Joy Junction. Students may register by October 19 at rehearsal or by emailing Cynthia@aysmusic.org.
Tour Contracts - Due October 19
Tour contracts and tour financial aid applications are due next Monday, October 19. This is a FIRM DEADLINE. If you do not sign-up by October 19, you may not be able to participate in the tour.
Luminaria Fundraiser - Opt-In/Out Form Due October 19
The luminaria fundraiser is an AYSP tradition that raises funds for students to go on tour. Packets will be passed out at rehearsal this evening and the fundraiser will be explained to students who are new to AYSP. We will also send the packet by email this week. A form asking if the student will be participating is due back at the next rehearsal on October 19th.
High School Tour - REQUIRED
As indicated in your registration materials, AYSP high-school ensembles will be performing in early November at an APS school. This is a REQUIRED performance. The date, times, and additional information will be emailed this week and confirmed at rehearsal on October 19.
Concert Tickets - Money and Unsold Tickets Due October 24
Tickets for the October 25 concert were passed out at the last two rehearsals. If your student checked out more tickets than you think they can sell, please return them this evening so that we may check them out to another student. We passed out all the tickets and do not have enough to distribute to students who would like to sell. All money and unsold tickets are to be turned in no later than the dress rehearsal on October 24th. Students earn $5 toward their tour account for each $10 ticket sold.
Uniforms will be passed out tonight for those who have ordered. Girls, please make sure your dress fits and have it hemmed/altered if needed. Boys are to wear any black jacket if they did not order one.
Parent volunteers are critical to helping us keep tuition down and keep students safe! We are in need volunteers to help with the following:
Parking: If you can volunteer every other month from 9:00-9:30pm it would be very much appreciated. Right now our parent managers are doing double duty and we would like to find other volunteers to help in the parking lot at the end of each rehearsal.
Moving of Percussion for Concert - Load In/Load Out: Help is needed on Thursday, October 22nd from 2:00-3:30pm and from 9:00-10:00pm and on Sunday, October 25th from 12:00-1:30pm and 7:30-8:30pm
