On October 22 I handed out flyers to the musicians at rehearsal with the NMP Holiday Pops rehearsal schedule. On that schedule, I explained to the students that Monday, December 17 was an additional rehearsal date. This additional date is due to NMP pushing our original concert date back a week from the 15th to the 22nd.
I sent a Read and Heed out that week informing families that I passed out the information at rehearsal, but failed to attach the flyer, or to specify the added date in the email. Many apologies! I have received a few confused emails from parents and wanted to clarify here. I have discussed it multiple times with the students since then, but realize teens don't always relay info to their parents. :-)
I told the kids that if they take time to practice the music this week (the music is not easy) and that the selections are well prepared at our upcoming Monday, Dec.10th rehearsal, I will cancel rehearsal on Dec. 17. If the parts are not prepared, we will have to have a short rehersal on Monday, Dec. 17th in order to be well prepared for this performance. I am aware that many of the kids have finals that week (including my own daughter) so rehearsal will simply be a run-through from 6:30-8:00 PM. I hope this isn't a huge inconvenience to your families and appreciate your understanding.
