Rehearsal Notes

Hello everyone,

Great job in rehearsal yesterday. It was productive and focused.

Things to keep in mind for this program:

  • Most of your practice needs to be dedicated to:
    • The Blue Danube: careful consideration to the tempo markings throughout
    • Farendole (especially those first and second endings):  light articulation (off the bow)
    • Hornpipe: heavier articulcation with large, full sounds.
  • The other three, although easier, need to be perfected (correct notes and rhythms)
  • This program is meant to be more challenging. Do not underestimate the difficulty of the program and be sure to find recordings of the peices to listen to fro reference.

Sectionals start next Saturday. All notes and rhythms need to be learned and perfected so that your section coaches can work purely on the musical aspects of each piece as opposed to teaching things that could have easily been taken care of during individual practice.

We're looking forward to working towards another great performance! See you in a week!
