At today’s rehearsal, we felt like we took a significant step towards playing well together with a good symphony orchestra sound.
As you practice on your own, be sure to work on notes, rhythms and articulation. If you are able to move on to higher musical concepts, be sure to consider intonation and dynamics.
For next week’s rehearsal, be sure to concentrate your practice on these pieces:
Two chromatic scales: A and D (for woodwinds and brass: A concert and D concert)
The Abduction from Seraglio
Violin A’s: be sure to practice the Barcarolle rhythm as you did in sectionals and review the 2nd position fingerings in Glorioso.
See you next week!
We rely on donations from generous individuals and businesses like you to provide symphonic performance experiences to Albuquerque’s talented young musicians and access to music education for students in need.
