I hope everyone enjoyed another wonderful winter weekend in New Mexico, back to work and school today! Looking forward to hearing everyone on Wednesday, our first week of sectionals. During the spring we start with the full orchestra and then moving into sectionals after the break. I really appreciate everyone's hard work over the last two weeks as we establish the spring repertoire, some excellent sight-reading!
Here is our program so far (not in concert order) -
Schubert/Leidig, Rosamunde Overture
Beethoven/Leidig, Symphony 7, second movement
Ippolinitov/Issac, Procession of the Sardar
Mathieu, In Dreams (New Mexico premire)
You did a great job reading the "Bounty Hunters" theme last week, but I'm still working on finding a good fit for the group from the movie genre. More on this Wednesday.
Sectionals will focus on tuning and toning in the upper register along with the Beethoven
Best to you all, have a great start to the week!
We rely on donations from generous individuals and businesses like you to provide symphonic performance experiences to Albuquerque’s talented young musicians and access to music education for students in need.
