Greetings, Junior Symphony musicians and families. I hope my email today finds you safe and well, and I REALLY hope you ended up with your instrument and music folder at home when schools abruptly closed. These are unprecedented times, and Ms. Brasher and I find ourselves missing the chance to share music together every Saturday morning. Miss you people!
As you've seen from the AYS Program emails, we are unsure when we will meet again and will get to perform the awesome music we started this semester. Regularly check your email for further instructions, but if you have any questions or concerns, or just want to connect, please reach out: email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org
I suppose that if there's a "silver lining" to our collective situation, it's that we have PLENTY OF TIME TO PRACTICE! As I told my Academy band students, this predicament may very well lead to us becoming stronger individual musicians, and when we see each other again, tune up our orchestra, then raise our instruments to play that first note back, it could really blow us away! And what a better stress reliever than playing music. If anyone wants to post a private YouTube link of them playing their Junior Symphony music, after making sure it's okay with the program I'll share that link here.
Ms. Brasher and I wish you the best in these unsure times. Keep washing your hands, keep heeding all the directives for staying healthy and helping to not spread COVID-19, and I hope to see you all soon.
Ms. Brasher and Mr. Corbin
We rely on donations from generous individuals and businesses like you to provide symphonic performance experiences to Albuquerque’s talented young musicians and access to music education for students in need.
