There is a MANDATORY parent meeting this Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 9:00am – 9:30am at the AYSP facility.
All students in high school Youth Ensembles (YS, YO, YCO) must own a uniform. The $65 uniform fee is required for girls, who MUST purchase their dress through AYSP. Boys may purchase their black jacket through AYSP for $65 or wear their own black jacket. Once purchased, the dress or jacket is yours to keep and may be worn for any AYSP ensemble concert.
Students will be fitted for a uniform during their boot camp on Saturday, August 11. Upon being fitted, a form will be sent home with your student. The form contains their uniform size and instructions on how to place the order online.
The UNIFORM ORDER DEADLINE is Wednesday, August 15, 2018 @ 5pm.
The UNIFORM PAYMENT DEADLINE is Monday, August 20, 2018.
The luminaria fundraiser is an AYSP tradition! Every season since 1981, AYSP students and families fold, sell, assemble, and deliver thousands of dozens of luminarias across the Albuquerque metro area to raise funds. All AYSP students and families volunteer during the luminaria fundraiser. Each student will fold 25dz (300 bags). All 8th grade – 12th grade students and families volunteer during Luminaria Day on Saturday, December 8, 2018. Making luminarias at several workhouses kindly hosted by AYSP families and orders are delivered by AYSP parents who sign up as delivery drivers. – luminaria fundraiser dates are listed on each ensemble’s season calendar.
HOSTING A WORKHOUSE on Saturday, December 8, 2018
Workhouses are the home base for assembling and delivering luminaria orders in their part of town on Luminaria Day. Teams of AYSP students and families are assigned to each Workhouse to support these efforts.
In the weeks prior to Luminaria Day, Workhouse hosts prepare by collecting their supplies from AYSP, making space for sand to be delivered to their home, attending a Workhouse meeting, organizing the roles of family members, and carefully reading the Workhouse handbook to be sure they are prepared for the big day.
On Luminaria Day, the Workhouse hosts are the “boss” – directing workers, checking quality, and organizing deliveries. Hosts usually work to make their house fun by playing music and energizing workers. Workhouse hosts also help to coordinate a potluck to keep everyone fed (many family recipes are exchanged on Luminaria Day!)

VOLUNTEERING AS DELIVERY DRIVERS on Saturday, December 8, 2018
During Luminaria day we will need many drivers (trucks and large vehicles preferred) to help deliver luminarias. Delivery volunteers will sign up to work with a specific workhouse and deliver within that area.

Thank you to our parents Amy Allen, Meredith Smith who have volunteered as Parent Managers this season! Our Parent Managers play a critical role in communication between parents and AYSP staff and their support allow our conductors to focus on their role as music educator. We are still in need of two parent managers for the Youth Orchestra. If you are able to volunteer, please sign up HERE

Online – through the link on your electronic invoice.
By Phone – Call financial coordinator Yvonne Ortiz at 505-888-9400. Mrs. Ortiz is a contractor and does not hold work hours at the AYSP facility.
By Mail – Checks (payable to “AYSP”) must be mailed to: PO Box 30961, Albuquerque, NM 87190. Please write the student name and “tuition” in the memo section.
In Person – AYSP staff will be available during the following dates and times to assist with tuition payments and setting up Option 3/Monthly payments:

Sunday, August 12, 2018: 2:30pm – 4:30pm
