Our days are dwindling down to a precious few. One more rehearsal and we are through for the entire year of meeting at our AYS home. I promised the students I would bring banana bread as a celebration of a year well done! Please help your child to keep the Orchestra Music Preparation as a priority. It is such good discipline for them to keep engaged with the music until the very last minute as it is easy to rationalize that the music is as good as it's going to get, and begin to slack off. It is never 'as good as it's going to get!' as it will always always get better! Our tour is next Thursday, April 27th. I will attach again the particulars here. Please follow the Read'n'Heed for directions about Popejoy on Saturday and Sunday the 29th and 30th. UNM can be quite the zoo parking wise and entering the building itself is always a challenge. Remember, the dress rehearsal is REQUIRED and has been posted as part of the agreement since first signing on last fall. I know you will all do your part to make sure your child attends the dress rehearsal. The word "dress" is only a term to denote the opportunity to try out the actual performing space and no actual 'dress' is required. The term originated in opera and plays where the 'dress' had to be tried on the stage to check for appropriateness and readiness. So any old Saturday clothes will be fine! Not so the day of the performance though: best dressed applies! See you next week: Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. What fun! Ms. Velasco
