YS Rehearsal notes for 4/17

Raffle ticket sales are due next Monday, April 17, at rehearsal. Please take some time this weekend to ask neighbors, friends, business owners, etc. to help support you and your fellow AYSP musicians by purchasing a raffle ticket or more! All monies and/or unsold raffle tickets are to be turned in to Parent Managers at rehearsal this Monday. We are currently in 4th place, so let's go for it!

DAVE AND BUSTERS is ours!!!!!

A reminder that all yearbook pictures should be emailed to yearbook@aysmusic.org ASAP. The only ensemble that has been turning in Yearbook pictures thus far is YCO. We would love to have a variety of pictures from a variety of people and ensembles. Please get those in now.

At Monday's rehearsal, I will be videotaping each piece for our own review. Please be prepared for ALL of our music! That means, you need to practice Chabrier notes and Tchaikovsky notes that are not yet learned at tempo (Yes, you must practice slowly, and then work it up to tempo WITH your metronome!) All musicians will be required to stay for all of rehearsal this Monday.

6:15 - arrive/warm-up/tune

6:30 - record concert pieces in order:

  • Chabrier
  • Johnson
  • Hue
  • Tchaikovsky

9:15 - dismiss

I can not stress the importance of preparing well ahead of time. Our harpist will be coming to rehearsals from here on out and I need everyone to please learn their notes. (You know who you are!) We can't perform our best as an ensemble if our individual members aren't prepared. We owe it to eachother to bring our best to every rehearsal.

Have a great week practicing and Happy Easter! I hope the Easter Bunny brings you lots of yummy treats. :-)
